The Aalto University School of Engineering started its operations on 1 January 2011. It is based on the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the School of Science and Technology (former Helsinki University of Technology). Aalto University is formed by the merger of the Helsinki School of Economics, Helsinki University of Technology and the University of Art and Design.
